The mythical Pan appears on one side of the sculpture and morphs into the face of a mule deer on the other.
In the forests of northern California, Manzanita is a protected wood. In the harsher elements of the desert, the roots engulf adjacent rocks and grow into multi-hued burls . Colors range from deep oxblood to orange, tan, grey and brown, and buff to a deep, rich luster.
